Air panas ini menyembur di daerah non-vulkanik dekat dengan pantai karena adanya tekanan hidrolik yang sangat besar di dalam bumi yang mendorong air tanah bersuhu cukup tingi yang terletak jauh di dalam bumi untuk menyembur keluar, seperti Geyser terkenal Yellowstone yang berada di Amerika Serikat.
